| How does the SPEX software package work in practice and how can you get started using it?
In this presentation, I will show how SPEX is used and what information and tutorials are
available to get started. Recently, also Python interfaces were developed for SPEX to meet
demand for a programmer interface that allows for easier scripting of SPEX. This is a
first step toward a modular SPEX version that we will start to develop this year. The new
version aims to make it much easier to integrate SPEX into other programs, preparing it
for the next generation of high-resolution X-ray spectrometers aboard, for example, XRISM and Athena.
